Playback software

VLC:

The VLC media player is an open-source program for playing back video files. The program is available for all current platforms, including mobile ones, and enables playback of all current video formats.

Cyberlink PowerDVD:

Cyberlink PowerDVD is an all-purpose multimedia player that is mainly used for playing back DVDs. The formats that can be played back include primarily those that are also found in physical digital video formats. The software is available for Microsoft Windows only.

Windows Media Player:

Windows Media Player is a proprietary playback program from Microsoft. It allows playback of many video formats and is available for Microsoft Windows and Apple MacOS.

iTunes:

The media player, originally developed only for audio playback, has also made it possible to play video files for some time now. Only the QuickTime format and MP4 are supported.
